Rolex Datejust 16014, Cal.3035, 1979
An outstanding Rolex Datejust reference 16014 from 1979, presented in exceptional condition following an uncompromising professional restoration by a master watchmaker.
This watch retains all of its original components and has been sympathetically restored to an exceptionally high standard. The stainless steel Oyster case has been professionally recut, restoring its crisp factory lines, while the original Jubilee bracelet has been expertly laser rewelded, leaving it with virtually no stretch and giving the watch the feel of a new old stock example.
The original champagne dial has a beautiful warm tropical appearance, giving it considerably more character than a standard champagne Datejust. The dial remains entirely original with matching original tritium hour plots, applied gold baton markers and original handset, creating a wonderfully balanced vintage aesthetic.
The solid 18ct white gold fluted bezel is beautifully sharp and frames the dial perfectly. Inside is the Rolex Calibre 3035 automatic movement with Quickset date, freshly serviced and running exactly as it should.
Finding an original tropical dial housed in a professionally restored case and bracelet of this quality is exceptionally difficult. It offers the charm of a well-preserved vintage Rolex with the appearance and feel of a much newer watch.
