Rolex Datejust, Sigma dial, 1601, 1975

£3,750.00
sold out

An unbelievably strong 1601, carried by an exceptional dial.

The silver Sigma dial is as clean as you will find. Bright, even tone across the surface with no spotting, no discolouration and no disturbance to the finish. The printing is sharp, the minute track intact, and the applied markers sit exactly as they should.

At the base of the dial, the small σ marks either side of “T SWISS T” denote the use of solid gold for the hour markers and hands, a detail reserved for a short production window in the 1970s and rare to find.

The case is excellent. Full, well proportioned and not overworked. The 18ct white gold fluted bezel remains crisp and catches the light properly.

Just serviced and running perfectly on the timegrapher.

Fitted on its original American-market Rolex bracelet with folded links, giving a lighter, more flexible feel on the wrist. Bracelet length approximately 19cm.
