Mid-1950s Zenith Jumbo, dating to 1955 and powered by the manual-wind Zenith Cal. 126.
At 36mm, this sits firmly in jumbo territory for the period. Larger Zenith cases from the 1950s are genuinely uncommon, with most examples coming in several millimetres smaller, which makes this one particularly appealing on the wrist today. It wears large thanks to the slim bezel and clean, open dial layout.
The original dial has aged evenly to a warm caramel tone, with consistent patina across the surface. Applied Arabic numerals and faceted markers remain sharp, and the recessed sub-seconds at six adds depth without clutter. Surface marks only, entirely in keeping with age.
The stainless-steel case shows honest wear but has not been over-polished — the profile and lug shape are still clearly defined. Signed Zenith crown.
The Cal. 126 movement is running well and currently keeping time within a few seconds a day.
Fitted to a brown leather strap with an aftermarket buckle. A straightforward, honest Zenith Jumbo in a rare larger size, with strong wrist presence and no unnecessary embellishment.
